Order of the SilverHands – (L’fÿn)] A secret organization dedicated to finding the lost Guardians.

Paladin – (Faelÿn) A member of the Temple of the Stars, which is hidden in the Shattered Lands. Paladins are harbingers of justice and the champions of the wronged.

Panthrÿn – [pan-thrin] One of the races found on the planet Slorèx, Panthrÿn have some feline features—half-moon ears, long tails, slanted golden eyes, sharp needle-like teeth, a slightly flat nose but no muzzle, and retractable claws—but no fur. They also have wide cheek bones, square jaws, corkscrew honey-gold manes, and their skin can be anywhere between sun-kissed gold and pitch black in color. Many have contrasting rosettes running along their temples and down their necks.

An advanced warrior race living primarily in the Chándariān province of S’koylë, they are one of the few species chosen by the Federation to help police the galaxy. The Panthrÿn royals, known for their cerulean blue eyes, have ruled the continent of Chándaria for more than five hundred years.

Sāchem – [sah-chem] (Faelÿn) province governors who manage six Faelÿn clan heads (Sirdārs) each. They act as advisors to the Chándariān crown, sitting on the king’s council.

Sirdār – [sir-dar] (Faelÿn) the chieftain, or head of a Faelÿn clan, only answerable to the Sāchem and the Speaker of the Stars. With a meaning of peacemaker, Sirdār replaced the archaic title of Warlord after the Faelÿn clans came together and found peace.

S’koylë – [s-koi-ley] The province of E’drijān in which Panthrÿns live.

Slorèx – [slor-ehx] The planet Chándariāns live on.

Speaker of the Stars – (Faelÿn) Ultimate leader of the Faelÿn. The revered medium who reads the messages left in the stars by the gods.

Sub-Humans – (Earth) A small group of test-tube humans who were experimented on as children by their genetic parents, Howard and Elisa Booker (two of six infamous human scientists with a goal of pushing human evolution). Their DNA mixed with various animals, sub-humans are stronger, faster, and smarter than most humans. After their increased aggression and short tempers (also products of the DNA mixing) led to an incident that resulted in several fatalities, the Federation stepped in and disbanded the experiments. The remaining twenty Booker children (now adults) are closely monitored at all times.

Sūnder Alārd – [Soon-der (as in English root), A-lard] A faeborn male with royal Panthrÿn father and L’fÿn mother.

The Festival – (Earth) An annual Earthside gathering of Panthrÿns, L’fÿns, Faelÿns, and Zëliāns looking for mates.

The Shattered Lands – (Faelÿn) The most dangerous and desolate area of the province of Alglistán, where deep canyons and tall spindle-like spires were long-ago carved from the hard earth by wind and water.

Temple of The Stars – (Faelÿn) A temple hidden in the Shattered Lands where the Speaker of the Stars and the paladins who do the Speaker’s will reside.

Warder Class – the deadliest of the two styles of bladedancing, a Warder Class bladedancer’s song harmonizes with the whistle of their blade to create the song used to enthrall their opponents.

Wūxbury – [wooks-berry] (Panthrÿn) The capital city of the Panthrÿn province of S’koylë, where the king of Chándaria lives.

Zëliān – [zel-ee-ahn] (Federation) Water-loving humanoids who resemble pale-blue humans with an eyeless octopus attached to the back of their heads. Both their tentacles and upper faces have natural lilac markings unique to each individual. Although they have extraordinary physical strength and poisonous spines on their back, Zëliāns are a politically and culturally elite people who withhold scientific knowledge to keep their general populace ignorant.

Renowned for their fairness and impartiality in their own court of law, they are often sought after to mediate because of their accuracy in pinpointing the oft-hidden cause of the dispute, which allows them to arbitrate and broker a fairer, more long-term peace for those involved.

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

LEXI HAS ALWAYS been an avid reader, and at a young age started reading (secretly) her mother’s romances (the ones she was told not to touch). She was the only teenager she knew of who would be grounded from reading. Later, with a pencil and a note book, she wrote her own stories and shared them with friends because she loved to see their reactions. A Texas transplant, Lexi now kicks her boots up in the Midwest with her Yankee husband and her eighty-pound puppies named after vacuum cleaners.
